Jeff Dowdy(Sandan) has practiced martial arts for most of his life. He was awarded a 1st degree black belt in karate before he started practicing Aikido in 2003. For the last twenty years aikido had been his way to explore conflict resolution, engagement, and personal growth through translating the practice of aikido into everyday life.

We are are a part of Takemusu Aikido Association which is “dedicated to the development and dissemination of Aikido based on the highest ideals of the Founder, Morihei Ueshiba, O-Sensei. The Association does this by continuing and promoting the Founder’s traditional teaching and training methods as passed on by his longest direct disciple, Morihiro Saito, Shihan.” TAA is a recognized by Aikikai Foundation, the Hombu, in Tokyo, Japan as an approved aikido association.
We are affiliated with Aikido of Fredericksburg under the direction of Aviv Goldsmith Sensei.
